When is the deadline to apply?

When will I be notified of your decision?

All applicants were notified of their status on Monday, January 2, 2012. The Karen Schmeer Film Editing Fellow will be presented at the SXSW Film Festival Awards Night on March 13, 2012. 

Who is eligible to apply?

Our 2012 requirements were: Applicants based in the United States, who will be living there in 2012 and who have edited at least one feature-length film (documentary or fiction) but no more than three feature-length films, are eligible to apply. For our purposes, a feature-length film is defined as any project longer than 60 minutes, produced for theatrical or festival presentation. (An eligible film may be screened on television only after its theatrical release or festival run.)
